This is an Antique Navy Original "K-Bar" sailors rigging knife. According to a U.S. Navy vet, the utility blade was used to cut and strip rope. The marlin spike is used to spread line fibers when splicing, tying knots, and constructing rope. It is in good shape, except one side wood scale is split (the one shown). It has seen a lot of action, but is ready for more. Overall length when spike and blade are opened is 10". The pick is 2 3/4" and blade is 2 1/2", closed it's 4 1/2". If you like the ocean, sailing, commercial fishing, the Navy, this knife should interest you. I find it very unique.
